The club’s 16th Installation, of the Incoming President and her committee were installed, at a celebration in the home of Julia & John Adlington on 3rd May 2008.Two of our charter members, past district governors Diane Parker & Julia Adlington conducted the installation.
Our Club currently has several past District representatives, and one of our members has been a Director on the International Board.
The ambience of the evening was accentuated by the appearance of the room where we gathered.Camellias and fresh flowers adorned the tables, and the installation table where the candle lighting ceremony took place was beautifully decorated with float bowls of fresh flowers.
The International candle on the night was the Annette Ferguson Memorial Candle, this is lit on all of the Club’s official occasions.Annette was a charter member of our Club who was sadly taken from us in April 2003.Past International President Caroline Rice, presented Diane Parker with a beautiful ‘rose brooch’ which she suggested Diane wear for the first twelve months in honour of the memory of Annette. Each year a member is nominated by the club at the AGM and is the recipient of the pin for the next year. This member depicts the spirit of Quota, which Annette showed us by example
All enjoyed good food and fellowship.A fun lucky door prize was organised by incoming PresidentStephanie Gooding and Vice President Robyn Powell.Bringing many laughs as everyone received a $2 gift- for some it was appropriate and for the rest a fun memento.
